To support K-5 teachers making the challenging transition to the Next Generation Science Standards www.nextgenscience.org, we are authoring and editing a NEW collaborative book, Science Literacy & Our Nation’s Future. The book will provide a blueprint for elementary teachers to get ahead of the curve and align their instruction with the spirit and principles of the Framework. A key section of the book will feature lesson plans from outstanding educators such as you.
Are you willing to contribute to this collaborative effort? (click here) Would you share one or more of your successful mini-units (i.e., 3-7 day lesson sequence)? If so, please complete and submit the application form below by MAY 21, 2012. From among the applications, we will select those plans to be fully developed and included in the book. We look forward to working with you on this exciting project.
Note: The book is being published as a non-profit project by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and the Science Teachers Association of New York State (STANYS), so we are unable to offer compensation. However, teachers whose lessons are published will be credited in the book.
